This highly specialised course supports participants in developing a better understanding of Autism.

Learning outcomes

  • Gain an understanding of the autism spectrum and be able to identify main symptoms.
  • Identify differences in how people on the autism spectrum may process sensory information.
  • Understand how Autism is diagnosed.
  • Understand legislation around Autism.
  • Practice some of the ways to communicate with people who have Autism.
  • Have an awareness of Asperger Syndrome.

Description

This course recognises that Autism covers a wide range of social, speech and communication disabilities, and delegates will learn how to manage any variation whilst gaining an understanding of the behavioural difficulties which it can cause. Our training fulfils recommendations underlined by the CQC to help improve the quality of care provided to those with autism.

This course is delivered by our expert facilitators who will bring their first hand experience and tailor the course to suit your learning needs.
