Learning outcomes

 

  • examine current assessment practice and the key issues arising from research and inspections
  • An improved understanding of the role of analysis within assessment and how they can strengthen their own skills in analysis
  • Been introduced to models and tools which will strengthen analytical
  • Explored how reflective practice and supervision are an integral part of the assessment process and how to harness this to make assessments more
  • Considered how to ensure that the child’s voice contributes to analysis within assessment
  • Had an opportunity for reflection on their own work using a structured reflection approach
  • Been introduced to a checklist for assisting in writing analytical reports.

The aim of this course is to provide practitioners with the ability to form accurate, insightful and well-rounded assessments, essential for good social work. This course will support participants to use the assessment process in an accurate, analytical and inclusive way.
