Child Criminal and Child Sexual Exploitation

This course uses Virtual Reality to allow participants to gain a deep understanding of the experiences of children and adolescents who are at risk from or have been sexually or criminally exploited (CSE/CCE)

Learning outcomes

  • Gain an understanding of how children & young people become sexually & criminally exploited/trafficked and the support they need.
  • Develop an understanding of the different elements of CSE and CCE
  • Learn how C&YP are affected by CSE/CCE, the behaviours and risks they may present.
  • Develop confidence to support an exploited young person and their families.
  • Learn new skills in order to build warm, trusting relationships to improve a young person’s safety & well-being.
  • Learn about a range of safety strategies, helping to keep children safe from harm
  • Appreciate the need for multi-agency working, your role within this team & be able to identify additional support needs of young people and for yourselves.

  • Increased awareness of the difference between healthy & exploitative relationships
  • Increased protective factors in young person’s life
  • Recovery/healing from abuse/exploitation & improved well-being
  • Increase of protective factors in young people’s lives e.g., engagement in education, development of hobbies or skills, positive friendships & participation in decisions that affect them.
  • Young people reporting themselves to feel safe & protected from exploitation.
  • Improvements to young people’s physical, emotional & psychological well-being

 

Description

Throughout the day participants will interact with a range of immersive VR scenarios, bringing to life the experiences of children and adolescents who have experienced Child Sexual and Criminal Exploitation.

Using Antser’s Virtual Reality storytelling films, participants will explore the dynamics and risks associated with CSE/CCE, gaining comprehensive knowledge on how young individuals become exploited and the support they require. The course focuses on building confidence in supporting exploited youth, developing trusting relationships, implementing safety strategies, and promoting multi-agency collaboration.

The course aims to bring about positive outcomes, including reduced risks, increased awareness, improved well-being, and the presence of protective factors in the lives of young individuals affected by CSE/CCE.

This course is delivered by our expert facilitators who will bring their first hand experience and tailor the course to suit your learning needs.
