Description
Our training aims to provide a practical skills-based day focussing on interventions to support practitioners who are working with families where there are complex multiple needs including domestic abuse, parental mental illness and substance misuse. The course will explore the complex ways these issues interact together, consider the implications for child protection practice and how this should be addressed by social work professionals.
The aim of this course is to support participants in developing a better understanding of the impact of the Toxic Trio by considering Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol, Domestic Abuse, cognitive in terms of the ‘family development’. Looking at the impact on the family, family’s strengths, difficulties and building resilience. This course will ensure participants build a comprehensive understanding of the link between parental mental health and child protection.
