Learning outcomes

 

  • Have had a refresher of the basics of attachment theory.
  • Describe their understanding of the impact of separation and loss on children’s development, self-esteem, identity and behaviour.
  • Demonstrate their use of techniques which help children build attachments and trust.
  • Describe their understanding of the concept of resilience and how this can put this into practice.

Description

Our training explores what attachment is and why it is important to all aspects of healthy child development. It will provide an overview of the different types of attachments, attachment disorder and the impact of separation and loss on emotional and psychological development.

The training considers the impact of parenting styles and cultural norms on the development of attachment relationships. The training will also explore how attachment theory can be applied in practice and support social workers to help and support families effectively.

This course is delivered by our expert facilitators who will bring their first hand experience and tailor the course to suit your learning needs.
