Permanency and Care planning

This highly specialised course supports participants in developing an understanding of the care planning process, so that care planning becomes the tool to improve outcomes

Learning outcomes

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the purpose and process of good care planning
  • Understand when to start the care plan for children
  • Understand the legal framework for care planning for the individual needs of the child, including permanence planning
  • Understand how to establish the families capacity to change
  • Create good quality plans for children who require permanence, which are both evidence based and analytical
  • Understand the role of planning in reunification of children, using the NSPCC framework & toolki
